Today’s question comes from a fan and they want to know… how to discuss bondage play with your partner?

This is obviously a very hot topic these days. Post Fifty Shades of Grey and women in particular who get really empowered around trying to mix things up and figure out how bondage play might spice things up. Now, there’s a lot of assumption when it comes to bondage play; like oh it’s a heavy duty bondage discipline, people in chains, forcing your partner to sleep at the foot of the bed, and lots of that stuff. But actually, you can be whatever you wanted to be on bondage play. Bondage has a whole spectrum of ways you can interact with it. It can be everything from a silk tie on the wrist, to blindfolds, to floggers for sensation play and cuffs that are soft and comfortable that you can put around your wrist or around your ankles in bed.

Theres a lot more about your sex toys

And really there are varieties of products these days that you can experiment with. And if you want to partner to get involved with it, usually the best way to do that is to put them on your fantasy. Learn to develop some dialogue to communicate on what you really want in sex. Maybe when you’re having sex and you’re suddenly like “hey I would really get off if you will tie my wrist together” or try that out on your partner and see what their response is. You can start with one or two things and see if there’s an interest there. And once people have permission and kind of go there and experience the power play that happens where one person is initiating and controlling things, and the other person experiencing and exploring that, you can make it in whatever you want in a relationship.
